Konnichiwa! (kon-nee-che-wa). I'm back baby! It took 5 years but I'm back in business of traveling the world! Instead of jolly ol England (morning govnr!) I have fallen to the Land of Rising Sun and landed in Japan (Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto). This site will follow my experience as an English Teacher in the town of Ashikaga Japan. 5 Strangest things I've seen in Japan...
5. Japanese TV - It's like the stations has A.D.D. or something...
4. Harajuku girls - girls that dress up in extreme goth costumes in Tokyo and hang out on a bridge so people can take pictures of them...no reason why, they just like to do it.
3. Obsession with clothing with western style screen print/images on them. I've seen teenager girls wearing playboy bunny socks. Something tells me their parents dont know the playboy bunny symbolizes!
2. Vending Machines everywhere. According to Wikipedia Japan has a vending machine for every 23 people!
1. Consumptioin of bone cartilage. It is common in Japan to have a kebob with meat and bone cartilage. I have never eaten this but having the person next to you cracking the bone in their mouth is quite nauseating!
